Michael Oloo is a governance, public accountability, tax justice research and advocacy expert. He is currently a PhD student at the University of Johannesburg researching Debt, Taxation and State Legitimacy in Kenya. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Nairobi. He has previously worked in various capacities in the civil society, public service and academia spaces, including as the Chair of Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), Governance Advisor at the National Taxpayers Association in Kenya, Deputy Director for Political Affairs with the Government of Kenya and Tutorial Fellow at the University of Nairobi.
