The ICTD is seeking to recruit a Communications Officer who can play a crucial role in maximising our impact by developing and executing effective communications strategies to inform stakeholders, shape debates, and influence policy and practice.

The post holder will play an integral role in the team by coordinating the publication of ICTD research and working with researchers and partners to disseminate it in an accessible and engaging manner. You will be adept at writing compelling copy for different platforms, managing social media, and creating informative website content. You will play a key role in promoting events, editing blogs, and commissioning products such as infographics and videos. Coordinating external engagement and building relationships with researchers, civil society organisations, government officials, and the media will be essential in this role.

The ideal candidate will have strong all-round communication skills including excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and an understanding and appreciation for the role that research can play in informing media discourse, policy, and practice. We are looking for a team player who takes initiative and is willing and interested in learning about tax and development issues to effectively communicate the ICTD’s work and engage constructively with our network and partners.

The post is based at the Institute of Development Studies, which is located on the University of Sussex’s countryside campus and will involve a few trips per year in the UK and overseas for events. We can consider flexible working applications including hybrid / part remote working from candidates able to work 2 to 3 days per week from the IDS building.
