This forum will be anchored around addressing Sri Lanka’s debt crisis. Through this forum, Verité Research will

  • Present research and analysis pertaining to debt management and fiscal reforms, including potential interventions on government revenue and expenditure.
  • Provide specific ideas and guidelines that could inform the formulation of the 2022 Budget towards making it a stepping stone for macroeconomic stabilisation.
  • Complement its analysis with inputs from experts in the field who will contribute as panellist to the discussion. 

The ICTD’s Professor Mick Moore will be featured as a panellist alongside Nandalal Weerasinghe, the former Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Shanta Devarajan, a Professor of the Practice of International Development at Georgetown University.

The virtual event will feature speakers including Nishan de Mel, the Executive Director of Verité Research as well as Deshal de Mel, Research Director, and Anushan Kapilan, Analyst at Verité.
