You are invited to attend a Special ATAF Meeting on the Taxation of Extractive Industries titled,  “Assessing the value of Extractives: How can we assess the outflow from Africa?”  Date: 11 – 13 April 2016 in Johannesburg, South Africa

This special meeting aims at providing an overview of the challenges facing African tax administrations in cross border exports in the extractive industry.  Besides discussing the valuation of exports, regulation and monitoring of operations, collection of taxes and royalties, revenue management and allocation, the meeting intends looking at some country experiences in the extractive sector. The outcome of the meeting should provide the ATAF Secretariat with sufficient information to define the programme of work to be undertaken for the next three years.

The meeting is aimed at senior tax, treasury, and Customs officials who are directly involved in the valuation and taxation of extractiveswhile selected representatives of international organisations, as well as from the private sector, NGO’s, business leaders, civil society organizations and research institutes, are also invited to contribute to the understanding of the issues at hand.
