The Nigerian Tax Research Network recently held its second annual meeting on October 24th and 25th on the theme ‘Revenue Beyond Oil Reliance.’ The meeting was hosted in partnership with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) at the FIRS Training School in Abuja. Over 80 participants attended the conference, which showcased current research on the pressing challenges of taxation in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Tax Research Network (NTRN) is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and coordinated by the International Centre for Tax and Development(ICTD), in collaboration with the Federal Inland Revenue Service. The NTRN supports the generation and exchange of tax knowledge in Nigeria, with stakeholders including tax practitioners and researchers from Nigerian and international organisations.
