This project will interrogate the question: Do the DTAs between lower-income/East African countries and the UAE/Qatar have the potential to foster investment and economic activity by way of domestic resource mobilisation?

Maarten Hietland is a researcher at the Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations (SOMO). He specializes in research on corporate tax avoidance by multinational corporations and research on the financialisation of today’s economy.
