We are very excited to announce our upcoming 5th Annual Centre Meeting (ACM), which is scheduled for 10-12 February 2016, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The meeting will be hosted in partnership with the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA), and this year’s theme is “Linking Research and practice: ICTD after 5Years”.

This year’s theme will look back at the work the ICTD has been doing over the five years.

We’ve organised presentations and discussions based on the research that the ICTD has been working on over the last five years.

Some of the presentations will include: (see draft agenda)

       Taxing high net worth individuals

       Tax compliance in Africa

Taxation of mineral resources in Africa

Implication of OECD Report on BEPS for Africa

       Informal Taxation

Forestry taxation and REDD+ in Africa

       Tax and governance

       Gender and taxation

Improving the quality of tax data for research purposes

Tax administration has also been a big component of our work and will form the topic of our Annual Lecture. We’re excited to have Mick Keen, the Deputy Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF deliver this Annual Lecture.

About a ninety (90) participants, from twenty-two (22) countries are expected at this meeting. The participants are drawn from a mix of African tax administrators, policy makers, development enthusiasts as well as tax experts and researchers from Africa and beyond.

This promises to be an interesting and enriching meeting, and we are looking forward to interesting discussions and deliberations.

Please note this is a closed event, though we’ll make available all the presentations here on our website.
